Triangle Area Jack and Jill Teens Celebrate the Holidays
The holidays bring a season of fellowship, love, and new beginnings. On December 9th, the Jack and Jill Teens from Capital City, Durham, and Raleigh-Wake Chapters gathered for the Second Annual Holiday Teen Social. More than fifty teens convened at Brasa Brazilian Steakhouse to fellowship and celebrate the most joyous time of the holiday season. Each dressed in their own sophisticated and dapper style for the “festive holiday”. The afternoon began with words of welcome from Jaedon Williams, Alex Mauney, and Chaz Crosby, teen chapter presidents from Capital City, Durham, and Raleigh-Wake respectively. Then, the socializing amongst the three neighboring chapters began!
After enjoying an assorted spread for the main course, teens had an amazing seven-layer chocolate cake dessert and competed in a holiday version of Family Feud. Watching teens connect with people outside of their individual chapters was exciting, as it is often not easy to work with people with whom you are less familiar. Playing Family Feud was a light-hearted activity that truly allowed the entire group to connect and have fun.
Lastly, the teens participated in a $10 gift card exchange. Raleigh-Wake Teen Chapter President, Chaz Crosby said "I truly felt that a lot of the teens, including myself, had a great time meeting and conversing with teens from the other chapters. The fellowship was awesome." This Second Annual Holiday Teen Social was a highly successful in promoting interaction between the Teen groups and created a greater bond between all three chapters.
